This blog post contains my personal experience of how I got admission to COMSATS University Islamabad.

Before discussing how I got admission, let’s talk a little about COMSATS. No doubt Comsats is one of the best universities in Pakistan.

History of COMSATS University Islamabad:

COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) is a public research university located in Islamabad, Pakistan it was Established in 1998 and is one of the leading universities in the country, known for its high-quality education and research programs. Comsats usually ranks number 1 in IT in Pakistan. FAST (NUCEAS) comes 2nd in IT-related studies in Pakistan. This shows COMSATS is a great place if you want to pursue Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Field like that.

Courses in Comsats:

COMSATS offers undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate programs like Ph.D. in a wide range of fields, including engineering(Electrical Engineering, Computer, Software, etc), computer science, Business management BBA, Biosciences, Psychology, and social sciences.

CUI has a strong emphasis on research and innovation, and it has established several research centers and institutes, such as the Center for Advanced Studies in Engineering (CASE), the Center for Energy Systems, and the Institute of Information Technology. The university also has a strong international presence, with partnerships and collaborations with universities and organizations around the world.

CUI is accredited by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, and its programs are also recognized by other national and international accrediting bodies.

Comsats has 7 Campuses in Following Cities.

• Islamabad Campus
• Abbottabad Campus
• Lahore Campus
• Wah Campus
• Attock Campus
• Sahiwal Campus
• Vehari Campus

The university campuses provide opportunities for a wide range of extracurricular activities and clubs, including sports teams, music and drama clubs, Poetry Clubs, and societies like IDEA, and IEEE for various fields of study.

Get admission to Comsats:

As comsats offer more than 100+ degrees and programs. I opted for Electrical engineering. Admission in comsats for engineering courses usually opens once in a year near June – Sept. While nonadmission for non-engineering programs like BBA or psychology opens 2 times a year.

For engineering programs like I opted for Electrical Engineering, you can take admission by giving an entrance test. Comsats accepts NTS Test + comsats also has its own test which is similar to NTS. You can secure admission by taking any of the two tests.

I took only one NTS in I think in June of 2018. My marks on NTS Test were 57. At that time in 2018 merit was low so I got admission but now my merit is increased and the competition is high. My matric marks were 879/1050 (Federal board) while my FSC Marks were 886/110(AJK Board). You can calculate merit by the comsats merit formula.

Many of my friends took only the comsats own entrance and got admission through that. So you can get admission by taking any of the tests.

Accommodation in Comsats Islamabad:

Finding a hostel near Comsats Islamabad Campus is very easy. There is a full area called Hostel City(which you can find on google maps) just opposite COMSATS Islamabad campus where students from out of the city can easily find hostels and flats for rent. The location of the Hostel city from google maps is attached below.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, you can get admission by either of the above ways and you will not regret taking the admission in comsats and I hope you will learn something in university.
